Mindfulness is awareness of the present moment without judgment.

Humor is jokes, laughs, me watching something fall on your head.

Mindfulness and humor lead to the same thing: a momentary sense everything is okay. And then you repeat - it’s an ongoing practice.

But usually we aren’t mindful - we’re unconsciously worrying about the past or future. And usually we aren’t funny. These terrible tendencies makes it tough to live with ourselves.

Science and anecdotal evidence suggest with consistent practice, mindfulness and humor lead to better: health, wealth, relationships, yachts, confidence, success, yachts, and resilience AKA, they create yachts and make you tougher - in a good way.

    • You’re getting by in life but you know you’re not at your full potential.

    • Internally, things aren’t great. You might be experiencing negative thought and emotional patterns, a lack of confidence, enjoyment and fulfillment in the present, etc.

    • Externally, things aren’t great. Maybe you don’t feel in control of your reactions - for example towards your partner or your boss. Or, you’re a performer and you feel too much ‘in your head.’ This makes you feel insecure and disconnected from the audience.

    • You wish there was something you could do that was completely in your control. Something that doesn’t depend on anything in the external world changing before you feel results. Something you could do now.

    • You suspect daily mindfulness practices is that thing that could help you. but you want someone (me!) to support you, keep you accountable, and answer any questions you have in the process.

    • Confidence practicing breath-centred mindfulness meditation, plus exploration of other practices.

    • Enhanced ability to observe your thoughts and emotions with detachment. This leads to greater self-awareness.

    • From better self-awareness and detachment comes the power to choose your responses, actions, and the meanings you ascribe to your experiences.

    • More tolerance for being present with life’s inevitable unpleasant thoughts, emotions, and experiences. You know they’ll pass, so you better make a quick morbid joke about them.

    • Greater ability to enjoy the good times because you’re ‘more in the moment.’ At the same time you accept that they too come and go. Dang, eh.

    • Increased spontaneity that is conducive to feeling natural, funny, and able to connect with others.

    • More compassion for yourself when you’re not perfect with your mindfulness practice and you behave like a total piss ant. Piss ants are great fodder for humor. You’re getting better at laughing at yourself, yay!

    • You’re so much more non-reactive. You’re like a clown on fire and you don’t even care. That’s how tough you are.

    **Like physical exercise, the benefits of mindfulness meditation compound with consistent practice. I recommend at least six weeks of daily (or close to) practice to get the most out of the above benefits. But you’re of course welcome to give it a whirl for less time than that.

It’s ludicrous that life coaches don’t have to have any specific credentials. That’s where I come in. I also don’t have any specific credentials. But what makes me qualified is my general guru nature.

    • Your goals aren’t clear — or you’re stalled in going after them. Maybe because you’re overwhelmed by the steps. Maybe because your goals are so huge, weird, or oddly specific that you're embarrassed to say them out loud.

    • You’re looking for someone who supports your passions but also brings realism and discipline. “Riches don’t respond to wishes. They respond to definite plans, backed by definite desires, through constant persistence.” Napoleon Hill knows what’s up.

    • You want that person to be a doctor in something completely unrelated like political theory. It suits you for some unknown reason.

    • You want us to co-create a tailored vision and plan — what we’ll call your LIFE PACKAGE (I’m coining that). It’s your ideal self and life, mapped out with realistic steps. It’s the picture on your LEGO box.

    • you want text access to your Doctor of LEGO Life Packages between sessions.

    • You’re more clear (and excited!) about your goals (I’m excited about your goals, too!)

    • You’re more clear about the steps to getting there: starting with the ultimate goal and breaking it down into actionable steps.

    • You’re more clear and experienced with meditation and daily mindfulness as a tool & way of life. This helps you enjoy the present moment while striving towards your big large huge future.

    • You’re tracking objective milestones: the actions you took that led to wins as well as your ‘fails’ AKA valuable experiential data you are growing from.

    • You’re tracking subjective milestones. You’re more aware when you’re feeling and thinking negatively, meaning it doesn’t control you. Thanks to this work, you’re feeling more present, confident, fulfilled, and funny - wow, you’re so tough but not tough to be around!

    • You’re ready to lego of me cuz you’re confidently on your wayyy!

There’s ‘troubleshooting,’ there’s ‘shooting the shi*t,’ and now there’s ‘sh*tshooting.

  • You need someone to vent to, troubleshoot your weird life problems, or overflow your excitement to.

    Maybe you’re dying to have me (& Chad (ChatGPT)) help you advance your personal image (clothing style (Kibbe, seasonal color analysis), online brand, etc), read your astrology chart, or do Jungian dream analysis (personally, it blows my mind weekly). You know, all the essential pseudoscience stuff.

    To be clear, I’m not your date or your therapist - think of “rent a friend” (look it up) with a nice, smart, dumb, fun, boring, Canadian kook

  • Mmm, enlightenment, probably?

    Or at least momentary sanity or unhingedness (whichever you’re looking for), connection, clarity, inspiration, fun.
